The Holiday Season is upon us now as is colder weather. Time to spend some quality time with our family and friends, giving thanks for our freedom, health and prosperity.

As our club activities wind down the parade season kicks in. Christmas parades available if you are interested. Hendersonville Dec. 5th 9 AM line up at old Boyd dealership North Main St. Brevard Dec. 5th 2 PM line up at Brevard High School, Fletcher Dec. 12th 9:30 AM line up at Bank across form Ingles on Hendersonville Hwy. and Forest City Nov. 29th 1 PM gather behind Dollar General on North Main St. parade 3-5 PM.

Christmas dinners are coming up just around the corner. The Little Detroit Chapter dinner is Thursday Dec. 10th 6:30 PM at Bennett’s Museum in Forest City, NC. GSMR members are invited to join in the festivities. Pizza furnished by LDC, please bring a salad, favorite dish or desert. This will be a great time to take in the Museum for those who have not visited it. Members from both the LDC and GSMR enjoy free admission thanks to Buddy and Joe Bennett.

GSMR Christmas dinner is Thursday Dec. 17th 6:00 PM at the Cedars in Hendersonville, NC. catered by Tommy Shipman, his wife and staff. This year’s menu is Prime Rib and all the trimming. I hope to see you there. It’s a great time of the year to fellowship with our members and friends. I want to send a special invitation to our supporting business owner’s you too are invited to join us. Your support makes it possible for our club to continue our community support.

Approximately 40 members attended the November meeting at Mike’s on Main St. with one new member joining our region. Welcome Allen Owen from New Hampshire. Allen owns a 1940 Terraplane and a 1970 Matador.

GSMR had five couples attend the Concourse at Hilton Head several earning awards for their entry. Seven GSMR members attend the National Meet in Houma, LA three judging, one showing a vehicle and three ladies just enjoying themselves. Budd & Gail Benner earned a Senior award with their 1929 Ford Sedan Delivery.

Steve Nordt attended Mason’s Hot Rod Shop and show in Spartanburg sharing some of the fine automobiles he saw.

Chip Boyd volunteered to set up a trip April 15-17, 2016 to Charleston, SC for those interested in participating in the Kiawah Island Motoring Retreat Concours. For more information visit kiawahconcours.com or call 843-277-0271.

Bob Delwiche won the Lucky Dog drawing and will be sharing his experiences with us at our January meeting at Bay Breeze Restaurant in Hendersonville.

Donut Derlicks meet every Saturday morning at 7:00 Am for breakfast at Nancy Lynn’s Diner in Mills River at the intersection of Hwy. 191 and Hwy 280 on the left next to the Marathon Service Station.
